NextGen Habitat Build Day 1

Before you arrive:

  1. Waiver: all the volunteers have to fill the waiver form and bring along with them to the site (please do not submit online)
  2. Safety: Prior to arriving on site, we also need everyone to take the online safety course "Volunteering on a H4H Job Site".
  • To take the course, go to:  http://hfhaffiliateinsurance.com and click “Safety Matters, Safety First”
  • Under the Online Safety Training Courses, click “Begin Now”, and then “Take Training Course Now”. You’ll then be asked to provide an access code; use “W8NAEBTG”. At this point, find the course entitled “Volunteering On A Habitat for Humanity Job Site” and click that. 
  • After the course, you’ll be asked to put in some additional info (our Affiliate is “Comal County Habitat for Humanity”).

Dress Code: Please dress appropriately for a construction site by checking the weather forecast, wearing close-toed shoes and no dangling jewelry. (Please do not wear any loose fitted clothing, jewelry, or open-toe shoes)

Water: Bring a clearly marked (with a name) WATER BOTTLE. We have water on site to refill your personal water bottle.

Tools: If anyone in the group has work gloves or personal tools they would like to bring, they are welcome to do so. Please be sure all personal items are marked clearly with names. Any unmarked tools at the end of the day will be assumed to be Habitat for Humanity’s. Habitat for Humanity will provide any tools needed for the job assignment of the day. Habitat for Humanity tools, aprons, and any other loaned items will need to be returned by the end of the work day.

Lunch: Each individual is responsible for their own lunch.  Each individual should keep any foods to the desired temps by bringing a cooler or warmer. If lunch is delivered to the site please make arrangements for to pay on site.

Parking: Street parking will be available however; parking is NOT permitted in front of the build site.  Carpooling is encouraged. Please do not block driveways or mail boxes.

Weather Policy: We work rain or shine! If weather conditions are extreme or unsafe, we will notify you the morning of your volunteer day and work to reschedule or cancel your project.

Adding Instructions

 Go to Matrix.ctxmls.com

• Enter your User ID and Password

• From Home page, go to the Input tab and click on Input

• Under Listings, go to the "Quick Modify" section and enter your MLS # and edit

• In Select Form you will go to Open Houses

• You will enter the date of the tour you want your home on.

• Time will be from 9:00 to 11:00 am.

• Active status is "yes"

• Under Open House Type, it is very IMPORTANT to make sure you pick "CARAVAN" (This is the only way we can find it to enter your property on the tour).

• Under Comments, please put which tour (New Braunfels or Seguin) you want it on and any other additional comments you'd like.

Course covers how to finance a property without comparable sales of like property. Hard to finance property types such as: Non- Warrantable Condos, Barndiminiums, Log Homes, Underground Homes, etc. Bridge Loans and how to purchase the new home prior to selling the current home and not have to qualify for both homes for financing. Also updates on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac covering the two sources guidelines and how to use the differences to your client’s advantage.
