Course description
The course offers a broad overview of the basics of commercial real estate and how it differs from residential real estate. Students will be able to distinguish and understand the broker's role and discover the different types of commercial properties, terms, valuation methods, marketing and resources for further education. Students will learn about Commercial contracts; the duties of those professionals who assist in commercial transactions; key differences between commercial and residential real estate; the types of commercial real estate and commercial transactions along with resources provided by NAR's Commercial Department and its affiliates.
This is an ideal introductory course for those who are newly licensed and/or residential agents who want to learn more about commercial real estate. It will explain the business and introduce many of the resources needed to conduct a commercial transaction or pursue a career in commercial real estate.

Course Description:
This course will detail some of the complex issues that can arise in a commercial transaction from listing to closing. Agents will learn strategies to help them recognize and develop solutions for transaction challenges that might include property location, mitigation for environmental hazards, liquidation of on-site physical assets, community context, long-distance parties to the transaction, and funding sources.
License holders will gain valuable insights by learning about the consequences of decisions made in the various steps of a complex transaction and develop creative problem-solving for a number of complicating factors that might occur while assembling a commercial deal. How to overcome challenges as the deal develops and evaluate the success or failure of solutions.
